Teapots

The process of preparing a pot of tea is a little meditation in itself. Each action —from boiling the water, to measuring the tea leaves, to pouring the brew into cups—causes us to redirect our thoughts, slow down and breathe. This is one of the reasons I
like to make tea in a pot.

To prepare tea this way, first warm up the teapot either with hot water from the tap or using a bit of water from the kettle. Swish the water around and then pour it out. As an
alternative, pour the water into teacups to warm them up as well.

Add your tea leaves into the empty (warmed) teapot. Pour more fresh hot water from the kettle and allow the leaves to infuse to the desired strength. Strain the leaves through a strainer as you pour into cups. (Or remove the leaves if using an infuser basket)

Bodum

This "Assam" tea press teapot by Bodum makes it simple to brew loose leaf tea.
Simply measure your favourite loose leaf tea into the center infuser, pour hot water over the leaves and allow to steep the desired time. When brewing is complete, simply plunge the lever down. to separate the tea leaves from the rest of the pot.

The clear glass pot allows one to appreciate the colour of the resultant liquor, while the unique infuser prevents the tea from further steeping.
